Nice to meet you, I'm Simone

Growing up, I always loved hands-on design. Some of the most memorable things I made were lip balm, greeting cards, and rainbow loom bracelets. With each of these crafts, I would think of how I could improve it in the next attempt, or how I could make it better match the needs of its recipient. While the final result of a craft is rewarding, my favorite part has always been the process of getting there. I appreciate the learning, iterating, customizing, and skill-building that comes along with each and every design.

I earned my Bachelor of Science in Human Centered Design and Engineering (HCDE) from the University of Washington Seattle. Today, I still enjoy doing hands-on crafts, and my experience with them often informs the way I approach my work. Whether I apply it while brainstorming, prototyping, testing, or designing, these skills allow me to be more creative and open to adaptation in my design process. With every project I work on, the experience reminds me to focus on being present and engaged throughout the process, not only for the final result.

I aim to pursue a career in UX Design to improve human interactions and experiences with technology. Whether I am designing for a friend or a client, I prioritize users’ unique perspectives, needs, and goals, and I am interested in understanding how to creatively design products that work well for a variety of users.

I am currently looking for full-time opportunities in user experience design. Reach out to me at simone.chadha@gmail.com!
